Who are we?

Fernhall is a centre for personal development for women of all ages and creeds. Our Aim is to help women of all ages achieve their full potential in life so that, with their specific attributes, they can enrich society and help make it more human. How? By providing social, cultural, educational and spiritual opportunities that expand minds and hearts, encouraging generosity and selflessness, and an attitude of responsible service to society.

Fernhall is committed to help girls and women discover their unique potential through programs which seek to develop all aspects of the person. The timeless values of integrity, industriousness, loyalty, friendship and optimism are reflected in our programmes.

Fernhall is a registered charitable organisation in New Zealand and is authorised to issue receipts for income tax purposes. Fernhall is run by volunteers without remuneration. Fernhall is funded entirely through donations and relies on the support of people like you to carry out meaningful programmes for women, girls and families.

Family Life

We believe that the family is the cornerstone of society and that transformation of society happens through the family. We emphasize the formation of young women to prepare them to become tomorrow’s leaders and role models.

Safeguarding

Ensuring the safety of everyone who attended and runs Fernhall's activities is of the utmost importance to us. All volunteers dealing with children are police vetted and have a compulsory training to make sure we create the the best environment possible for our activities

Opus Dei

Christian principles form the basis of all our initiatives. We entrust the doctrinal and spiritual programs to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Prelature of Opus Dei is a Catholic institution founded by Saint Josemaria Escriva in 1928. Its mission is to spread the message that work and circumstances of everyday life are occasions for growing closer to God, for serving others, and for improving society.

Fernhall has asked Opus Dei, to be responsible for the spiritual activities and to be available to look after the pastoral needs of those who seek spiritual guidance.
